Piggy backing on Dr Mario’s ‘Now ’ page, whom I thoroughly admire, and originally Derek Sivers now movement here I will lay out my ambitions and where I’m at.
My intention is to keep this updated monthly, as I prepare my habit tracking for the month.
Focus for the month
They are followed in a pen and paper habit tracker notebook, you may check Dominic Hart’s video This book changed my life (I too hate clickbait titles, but the structure of the notebook is pleasant and does not get in the way). As the month wraps up they are either reevaluated or incorporated into my routine.
2026-04Do and Learn
Spanish.
Sadly I am a bilingual mess. Spanish is my native language, but after 15 years of Reddit…
TRMNL Project
I want to dedicate a video (language to be decided) to setting up a TRMNL kit in my Selfhosted environment. The scope of the project is ambitious, I don’t plan to just set up the server and run it, the idea is to:
- Design and 3D print an enclosure that can be mounted on the fridge and used on a table with a kick stand. I love the hinge of the Nintendo Switch 2 and aim to design something like it
- Craft an accent piece in wood, the frame.
- Create a Docker-compose to deploy the BYOS Terminus server and host it
- Create a small add-on for Tandoor recipe manager to display recipes and calories intake.
- Play around with existent widgets for the TMRNL to make it truly informative (Calendar, Quote of the day, Photo, next day’s calendar…)
- Film the whole thing aesthetically
- Edit the video while learning Davinci Resolve
Ambitious as I was mentioning, right? Initially I thought of this project as something that I could push through in February, but the truth is I did not slice it enough and I just got overwhelmed with all of the things I have to do. So right now I am sticking to honing my Fusion 360 skills 😄 and the project will eventually unravel.
